Camping Le Ruisseau - Reps
Having spent most of our working lives in offices, we were both made redundant and had to re-think our future. Whilst on holiday in France we were talking to our couriers about their job and decided that this was something we would enjoy. So in 2004 we started our new lives and have since worked on campsites in France and Italy.
We both enjoy the lifestyle, meeting people and helping them have a good holiday. Of course, there is a lot of work involved, but it beats sitting behind a desk all day! In 2006, we took the plunge, sold up in the UK and bought our house in Mimizan on the French Atlantic coast.
We are now enjoying working with EuroParcs at Le Ruisseau, which is situated in the beautiful and interesting Basque region of France. The campsite is right on the doorstep of Biarritz, 15 mins from the Spanish border and just a 2km bus ride from the sandy beaches of Bidart, which is free in July & August. There is plenty to do and see in the area - grottos, picturesque fishing villages and the not-to-miss ride up La Rhune Peak in a vintage train. From the summit there are wonderful views across the Pyrenees (and a chance to spot the vultures flying overhead) - "La Rhune with a view"!! Bayonne, capital of the Basque region, is only 15 mins drive and is well worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere and visit one of the famous chocolate shops. The Fetes de Bayonne takes place at the end of July - 5 days of festivities including racing cows, float parades and fireworks. Get out your white T-shirts and red scarves and join in the fun.
We really enjoy the area and look forward to welcoming you to Le Ruisseau and help you enjoy it too.
