Campsite Holiday Book Club - April 2012
We will let you know which book we will be reviewing the next month so you can read the book and then send us your review!
THE SENSE OF AN ENDING by Julian Barnes
This book was the winner of the Man Booker Prize 2011 and this prize is well deserved. This book is 150 pages long so an ideal holiday read.
The central character, Tony is complex but at the same time interesting and following him from school days through to retirement makes for interesting reading!!!! He has to come to terms with his past when a lawyer’s letter throws up some surprises for him about his past and forces him to then contemplate missed opportunities and what he has done with his life. This book is thought-provoking and is a great read if you like to really get to grips with a character. This is not a conventional holiday read but good nonetheless.
The book was very much enjoyed by the EuroParcs book club members and was voted 7 out of 10.
Our next book to review will be “Hostage” by Paul and Rachel Chandler who were held by Somali Pirates for a year after being captured on their sailing boat.
Please be re-assured nothing like this will happen on your EuroParcs camping holiday – you are safe with us!!
