How
to get to Le Chaponnet
There are two main options, self-drive and fly-drive.
Self-drive
Less than 3.5 hours from St Malo and approx. 4.5 - 5 hours from Caen and Cherbourg,
Le Chaponnet is very well suited to self-drive.
We offer Eurotunnel, cross channel ferries via Dover - Calais, Portsmouth
- Caen / Cherbourg / Le Havre / St Malo, Poole - Cherbourg / St Malo, Plymouth
- Roscoff, Newhaven - Dieppe.
If you need an overnight stop hotels are inexpensive, for example a family
room for 4 in a B&B
Hotel chain is approximately 55 euros.
The early morning fastcraft crossings from Portsmouth / Poole to Caen / Cherbourg
are a particularly popular choice. Arriving Caen / Cherbourg before midday
enables you to be on-site and in the pool by late afternoon, therefore avoiding
overnight stops or late arrival times.
Fly-drive
As a general rule the earlier you book your flights the lower the prices. There
are a number of flight options:
• La Rochelle (1 hr)
easyJet
from Bristol and Gatwick
Ryanair from Stansted and Dublin
Flybe
from Birmingham, Southampton
and Manchester
• Nantes (1.5 hrs) Aer Arran from Bristol,
Cardiff and Cork
Ryanair
from Bournemouth, East Midlands, Stansted,
Dublin and Shannon
• Rennes (2.5 hrs) Flybe from Southampton,
Exeter, Manchester,
Edinburgh and Belfast
Aer Lingus from Dublin
• Lorient (3 hrs) Aer Arran from Cork,
Galway,
Kerry
and Waterford
We offer very competitive car
hire prices for collection / return
at airports.
