Autumn holidays with dog in the Netherlands

Especially in the Netherlands, late summer and especially autumn are the best time of year to go on holiday with your dog. This is because in the low season, dogs are allowed to run free on many beaches and there is no longer a leash obligation.

At Breskens beach in Zeeland, for example, dogs are allowed to run free and play all day from 1 October to 30 April. The beach is just a few minutes' walk from holiday park EuroParcs Schoneveld, where dogs are allowed in almost all accommodation.

If you prefer to go to Zuid-Holland, you can let your dog run free on the entire Noordwijk beach (except Noordvoort beach) from 1 September to 31 May. Here, holiday park EuroParcs Noordwijkse Duinen and holiday park EuroParcs Parc du Soleil are just a few minutes away by car. Both holiday parks are also ideal for a holiday with the dog.

Late summer and autumn are also ideal for a cycling holiday with a dog. As it is no longer so hot, our cycling partners do not overheat so easily and it is much more pleasant for them. However, the dog and the owner must already have experience with cycling tours and the four-legged friend must be in the right condition.

In De Hoge Veluwe National Park in Gelderland, for example, dogs are allowed on a leash. Here you can also rent bikes for free and go on a tour together. The dog-friendly holiday park EuroParcs De Wije Werelt and holiday park EuroParcs De Zanding are right next to the national park.

Autumn holidays with dogs in Austria

If you prefer to take your four-legged friend to the mountains, our holiday parks in Austria are the perfect place for a holiday in late summer and autumn. Our holiday parks in Carinthia are particular known for the warm hospitality, which also applies to dogs. There is no official regulation, but the vast majority of restaurants, cafés and bars allow dogs and sometimes even provide a bowl of fresh water.

Those who want to offer their dog a cool down can do so, for example, at the private lake access with bathing jetty at holiday park EuroParcs Wörthersee. Here dogs are welcome in the water and on the jetty. In fact, dogs are not allowed in the public bathing beaches on Lake Wörthersee.

Those who want to use the cooler season to intensify training with their dog can use the internal agility park at holiday park EuroParcs Hermagor - Nassfeld. Or you can get active together and go on a hiking holiday. In Carinthia, dogs are welcome hiking partners and are welcome on the hiking trails.

The Alpe Adria Trail with its 43 different stages is particularly suitable. The trail leads through 3 countries (Austria, Slovenia and Italy) and there are dog-friendly inns at each stage. Our holiday parks in Belgium, like in the Netherlands, offers a beautiful surroundings with nature for dogs to run around on, but is also particularly known for its gorgeous medieval towns. Hot asphalt in high summer is a great danger for dogs' heat-sensitive paws and therefore not suitable for a city trip with your four-legged friend. However, if you enjoy exploring cities with your dog, this is best done in cooler temperatures in late summer or autumn.

The picturesque city of Liège is only a 40-minute drive from holiday parks EuroParcs Hoge Kempen. Liège is worth a visit for any waffle lover, as the "Liège waffle" or "Belgian waffle" originated here. Restaurants and cafés in Belgium are generally very dog-friendly, but you should always ask before you sit down with your dog, just to be on the safe side.

Both holiday park Hoge Kempen and holiday parks EuroParcs Zilverstrand are holiday parks with many accommodations where dogs are allowed. Dogs are also welcome guests at the lakes in both parks. Dogs are also allowed on a leash in the Hoge Kempen National Park, which is in the immediate vicinity of the EuroParcs holiday park of the same name. Here you can go for long walks and hikes together.
