The environment of this holiday park breathes the culture and mystical atmosphere of the Middle Ages, partly because the special area has managed to preserve its own dialect, traditions and beautiful castles over the centuries. The location, in combination with the facilities that the holiday park has to offer, makes EuroParcs De Achterhoek a wonderful base from which to explore De Achterhoek!
The landscape of De Achterhoek takes you back in time, to the Middle Ages. Hidden between the woods you will find all kinds of impressive castles and beautiful estates. The noble wealth is therefore still very noticeable. Explore these impressive buildings by bike on the 34-kilometer 8 Castle Route. In addition to wooded areas, the area around Lochem also has a lot of water. For example, it is recommended to explore De Achterhoek by boat on the Berkel, which runs through nearby Lochem. Or take a wonderful dip in the recreational lake of the holiday park itself during the warmer days!
Near EuroParcs De Achterhoek you will find a number of lovely cities with vibrant centers, where you can go shopping or have a bite to eat. The Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zutphen, for example. Or Bronkhorst, the smallest town in the Netherlands. The area also has a lot in store for the children. Spend a day at Avonturenpark Hellendoorn, De Apenheul in Apeldoorn or Klimbos back corner. When the weather is not so nice, they can enjoy themselves for hours in the indoor playground of EuroPars De Achterhoek. For those who like a drink, you should really pay a visit to Brouwhoes in Lieveveld or taste wine in Doetinchem.
