Stroll along the boulevard, go shopping or meander through the picturesque squares with centuries-old buildings. Harderwijk also has a few museums. For more than 100 years, around 15,000 participants have been cycling the Cycle ''Elfsteden'' Cities Tour on Whit Monday. The route of this 235-kilometre ride starts and finishes in Bolsward. To complete the tour, participants must get all the stamps at the various stations and reach the last finish control in Bolsward no later than 24:00. Besides the Cycle Elfstedentocht, there are also editions on scooter, tractor, canoe and old-timer.
