Burgers' Zoo
Feel the humid heat in the tropical rainforest and spot its inhabitants among the green leaves or discover the heat like in the Arizona desert and see the vultures hovering above your head. Enchantingly beautiful is also Burgers' Ocean where you see colorful fish swimming. Because Burgers' Zoo consists of several indoor habitats, it is also an ideal zoo for rainy days!
Spotting wildlife at Planken Wambuis
Numerous large animals such as red deer, wild boars and foxes live in the Planken Wambuis nature reserve. You might just come face to face with the Big Five of the Veluwe! You can spot wildlife on your own from one of the lookout points or go on safari with a guide.
Open Air Museum Arnhem
In the Open Air Museum you dive into the past for a moment. Step inside a typical Dutch house as it looked years ago, learn how to make paper, go weaving or bake your own bread. This is such a nice museum, especially because children can get to work here themselves.
National Park De Hoge Veluwe
Welcome to Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe, the largest national park in the Netherlands! The purple moors, vast forests and sand drifts invite you to explore on foot or on the (free) white bicycles available in the park. Take a look at the Jachthuis Sint Hubertus and enjoy the works of art in the Kröller-Müller Museum with the second largest Van Gogh collection in the world. Keep your eyes open, you might just spot a wild boar, red deer or mouflon.

Kootwijkerzand
The 'Sahara of the Low Countries', that is how Kootwijkerzand is also called. And when you stand on the immense sand plain, you immediately understand why. On the largest sand drift of Western Europe are several hiking trails. Climb the watchtower for a magnificent view, have a picnic while the children run around or visit Radio Kootwijk: an impressive building that was a broadcasting station in the twenties of the last century.
Arnhem
In the pleasant city of Arnhem you can do plenty of shopping in vintage stores and boutiques, have a bite to eat on the Rijnkade and there are plenty of museums to keep you entertained. Like the Open Air Museum and the Dutch Wine Museum. In and around Arnhem there is also much to discover about the Second World War, in which the city played an important role. Like in the Arnhems Oorlogsmuseum for example. Also take a look at the Eusebiuskerk or walk through Park Sonsbeek, one of the most beautiful parks in the Netherlands. For the little ones, Burgers' Zoo is highly recommended.
Veluwe Cycling 4-day Otterlo
Explore the Veluwe by bike in 4 days! From 1 July to 5 July 2024, Stichting Veluwe Fiets 4-daagse organises the ninth edition of this four-day cycling event. From the Veluwe village of Otterlo, a number of beautiful routes have been plotted through the enchanting forests, expansive heathland and along various Veluwe highlights. The length of the routes vary from 25, 40 or 60 kilometres.
Children's amusement park Julianatoren
Julianatoren is a wonderful amusement park for the little ones from 2 to 10 years. Step on the tough roller coaster, get the creeps in the haunted castle or join the fire department. And if you take the Dino Tour you will suddenly stand face to face with real dinosaurs!
Palace Het Loo
This former Royal Palace has been open to the public since 1984. Stroll through the stately rooms of the palace and discover the history of the royal family. It is also fun to take a look at the stables and coach houses or stroll through the baroque gardens surrounding the palace. In the summer vacations there are princes and princesses days organized for children. Around the palace lies Kroondomein Het Loo, the largest contiguous estate in the Netherlands.
Treasure Island Zeumeren
Schateiland Zeumeren is the largest indoor adventure paradise in the Netherlands. Go on a voyage of discovery together with the Captain! What could be more fun than searching for gold in the water, getting painted by a pirate and going on a treasure hunt?
Posbank
The literal and figurative highlight of the Veluwezoom is De Posbank. At 90 metres above sea level, you can enjoy a breathtaking view that reaches as far as the Achterhoek, the IJssel valley and even Germany. Follow the winding paths through the unspoilt Dutch countryside with its purple heaths and beautiful forests, on foot or by bike. Who knows, you might run into deer, wild boar or the Rheden sheep herd. An excellent starting point for your route is Bezoekerscentrum Veluwezoom.

Nijmegen
In Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands, everything reminds you of times gone by. Like the Grote Markt, the Grote Kerk and medieval buildings in the lower town. Also worthwhile is a look at the underground passages in Museum De Bastei. World War II is also reflected in the sculptures. There is also a possibility to take an audio tour. After your visit to the sand sculptures, you can stroll through a beautiful garden and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at Brasserie de Rozentuin.
