That's why the forest ranger has created a special elf door route to introduce you to the animals and their elf friends. The Elf Door Route starts at the Schoorlse Duinen Outdoor Centre. There you will find a bag waiting for you with yes a real magic wand. Take that bag with you on your journey. Follow the green route markers and discover the elves' doors. Each elf door has a task for the children. After each task, you can cast a spell and take the animal that goes with it. Birds breed while we stroll through the surf. To enhance the experience of nature, we want to bring more nature (back) to the beach. Nature that has always been there, but is now under pressure. There is more life in seaweed than you think! Every first Sunday of the month, we clean up the rubbish that has washed ashore or been left behind. This prevents it from ending up in the sea (again) or, even worse, being mistaken for food by birds. We could use some help with this. Will you join us? This excursion is fun for young and old. The Valentine's Market takes place in and around the greenhouses of the Maatwerk nursery on the Willibrordus estate in Heiloo. The theme of the market is love & romance, with products to make your home and/or garden cosy, products made from beautiful natural materials and handicrafts. Workshops will also be held. And what is that cannonball doing on the wall? Are you a real detective and can you crack the Alkmaar Code? Why not come to the Schoorlse Duinen to visit the elves? They live here in the woods and dunes. They love to play with the animals, but the elves rarely show themselves. That's why the forest ranger has created a special elf door route to introduce you to the animals and their elf friends. The Elf Door Route starts at the Schoorlse Duinen Outdoor Centre. There you will find a bag waiting for you with yes a real magic wand. Take that bag with you on your journey. Follow the green route markers and discover the elves' doors. Each elf door has a task for the children. After each task, you can cast a spell and take the animal that goes with it. At the end, the children celebrate the feast of the seasons together with the animals. You can take the magnifying glass home with you afterwards. €8.50 per bag (adults free) incl. 1 magic wand. It's time to show off your dance moves during disco swimming at the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool in Alkmaar! Disco swimming is specially designed for children up to the age of 13. It takes place in the wave pool, the 25-metre pool and the water playground and lasts from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is something for everyone and you won't be bored for a moment! The theme changes every time and the swimming pool is completely decorated to match. All you need to participate in disco swimming is a swimming certificate or adult supervision.
