That's why the forest ranger has created a special elf door route to introduce you to the animals and their elf friends. The Elf Door Route starts at the Schoorlse Duinen Outdoor Centre. There you will find a bag waiting for you with yes a real magic wand. Take that bag with you on your journey. Follow the green route markers and discover the elves' doors. Each elf door has a task for the children. After each task, you can cast a spell and take the animal that goes with it. Did you know that gnomes live in the Schoorlse Duinen? At least, that's what we think, because you can see gnome tracks everywhere. Small footprints in the sand, wheel tracks from a wheelbarrow, flattened grass from an afternoon nap. And you sometimes see a gnome turd lying around. Really! If you walk the Gnome Path, you'll find out for yourself... The Gnome Trail starts at Buitencentrum Schoorlse Duinen. Wearing a pointed hat, you walk a 1 kilometer route together with your parents or grandparents. Along the way you will listen to a story from the Gnome Folder and do gnome tasks. Along the way, look for the next gnome post for the correct route. As a souvenir, you will make your own nature painting, which you can put up or hang at home. Why not come to the Schoorlse Duinen to visit the elves? They live here in the woods and dunes. They love to play with the animals, but the elves rarely show themselves. That's why the forest ranger has created a special elf door route to introduce you to the animals and their elf friends. The Elf Door Route starts at the Schoorlse Duinen Outdoor Centre. There you will find a bag waiting for you with yes a real magic wand. Take that bag with you on your journey. Follow the green route markers and discover the elves' doors. Each elf door has a task for the children. After each task, you can cast a spell and take the animal that goes with it. On Saturday 31 October, the Derp Bikers Beach Race will take place on the beach between Egmond aan Zee and Castricum. Mountain bikers will brave forty kilometres of wind and sand during this race, which includes a few spectacular obstacles along the way. For years, this has been the first race of the season and is popular with participants. The race starts at 10:00 a.m. just south of the Nautilus beach pavilion. From 12:00 p.m., there will be an award ceremony and a raffle with great prizes on the handlebar. So everyone can win! Join in or come and watch. After the race, there will be a super fun afterparty at the Sportcafé, Watertorenweg 36 in Egmond aan Zee, with the award ceremony, a raffle, music, snacks and drinks. It's time to show off your dance moves during disco swimming at the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool in Alkmaar! Disco swimming is specially designed for children up to the age of 13. It takes place in the wave pool, the 25-metre pool and the water playground and lasts from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is something for everyone and you won't be bored for a moment! The theme changes every time and the swimming pool is completely decorated to match. All you need to participate in disco swimming is a swimming certificate or adult supervision.
