A particular highlight of our route is the Lago di Pramollo, situated right on the Austrian-Italian border. We cross the border and experience Nassfeld from a completely different perspective. Discover traces of times long past along the Geotrail on what was once the seabed: that is the promise of the Kronalm walk. Around 300 million years ago, the Nassfeld area lay right on the coast of a sea. Fossil-rich limestone formed in the shallow waters, whilst near the coast, rivers deposited sand and gravel, which solidified over time. Fluctuations in sea level led to an alternating sequence of these rocks around the Auernig. This sequence reaches a thickness of 600800 metres and is known as the Auernig Formation. Its numerous fossilised marine creatures and rock formations can be explored along the Geotrails. Ideally, join us with our hiking guide. The route sets off from the Gartnerkofel mountain station towards the Garnitzenalm and continues up to the Garnitzenberg (1,960 m). After the hike, there is the option to stop for refreshments at the Berghex. After just a few kilometres, the tour takes us past beautiful alpine meadows and up to the Watschiger Alm. With every metre we climb, new views open up of the surrounding peaks and the unique landscape of Nassfeld. From the Watschiger Alm, we continue towards the Rossalm. This challenging bike tour for advanced riders starts in Tröpolach. From here, the route follows the R3 bike path at a leisurely pace toward Hermagor to the Garnitzenklamm. There, the challenging climb of 630 hm begins along the Eggeralmstraße up to 1,420 hm. Once we arrive at the idyllic alpine village of Egger Alm, well take a well-deserved break (at Gasthaus zum Rudi or Gasthof zur alten Käserei) and enjoy the mountain air. After the break, well continue on to the Dellacher Alm and head back down toward the valley via an action-packed forest descent (580 hm). Finally, well ride leisurely along the Gail River back to our starting point in Tröpolach. Discover traces of times long past along the Geotrail on what was once the seabed: that is the promise of the Kronalm walk. Around 300 million years ago, the Nassfeld area lay right on the coast of a sea. Fossil-rich limestone formed in the shallow waters, whilst near the coast, rivers deposited sand and gravel, which solidified over time. Fluctuations in sea level led to an alternating sequence of these rocks around the Auernig. This sequence reaches a thickness of 600800 metres and is known as the Auernig Formation. Its numerous fossilised marine creatures and rock formations can be explored along the Geotrails. Ideally, join us with our hiking guide. The route sets off from the Gartnerkofel mountain station towards the Garnitzenalm and continues up to the Garnitzenberg (1,960 m). We set off together from the Hotel Gartnerkofel and head out on our e-bikes to explore the impressive mountain scenery around Nassfeld. After just a few kilometres, the tour takes us past beautiful alpine meadows and up to the Watschiger Alm. With every metre we climb, new views open up of the surrounding peaks and the unique landscape of Nassfeld. From the Watschiger Alm, we continue towards the Rossalm. Along varied alpine and forest paths, we enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains, the fresh mountain air and, time and again, fantastic panoramic views. This challenging bike tour for advanced riders starts in Tröpolach. From here, the route follows the R3 bike path at a leisurely pace toward Hermagor to the Garnitzenklamm. There, the challenging climb of 630 hm begins along the Eggeralmstraße up to 1,420 hm. Once we arrive at the idyllic alpine village of Egger Alm, well take a well-deserved break (at Gasthaus zum Rudi or Gasthof zur alten Käserei) and enjoy the mountain air. After the break, well continue on to the Dellacher Alm and head back down toward the valley via an action-packed forest descent (580 hm). Finally, well ride leisurely along the Gail River back to our starting point in Tröpolach. Discover traces of times long past along the Geotrail on what was once the seabed: that is the promise of the Kronalm walk. Around 300 million years ago, the Nassfeld area lay right on the coast of a sea. Fossil-rich limestone formed in the shallow waters, whilst near the coast, rivers deposited sand and gravel, which solidified over time. Fluctuations in sea level led to an alternating sequence of these rocks around the Auernig. This sequence reaches a thickness of 600800 metres and is known as the Auernig Formation. Its numerous fossilised marine creatures and rock formations can be explored along the Geotrails. Ideally, join us with our hiking guide. The route sets off from the Gartnerkofel mountain station towards the Garnitzenalm and continues up to the Garnitzenberg (1,960 m). After the hike, there is the option to stop for refreshments at the Berghex. We set off together from the Hotel Gartnerkofel and head out on our e-bikes to explore the impressive mountain scenery around Nassfeld. After just a few kilometres, the tour takes us past beautiful alpine meadows and up to the Watschiger Alm. With every metre we climb, new views open up of the surrounding peaks and the unique landscape of Nassfeld. From the Watschiger Alm, we continue towards the Rossalm. Along varied alpine and forest paths, we enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains, the fresh mountain air and, time and again, fantastic panoramic views. This challenging bike tour for advanced riders starts in Tröpolach. From here, the route follows the R3 bike path at a leisurely pace toward Hermagor to the Garnitzenklamm. There, the challenging climb of 630 hm begins along the Eggeralmstraße up to 1,420 hm. Once we arrive at the idyllic alpine village of Egger Alm, well take a well-deserved break (at Gasthaus zum Rudi or Gasthof zur alten Käserei) and enjoy the mountain air. After the break, well continue on to the Dellacher Alm and head back down toward the valley via an action-packed forest descent (580 hm). Our tour starts at the Hotel Gartnerkofel and takes us first to the Berghex. Here, well find not only a cosy place to stop for refreshments, but also a magnificent view across the expansive mountain landscape of the Nassfeld. Its the perfect spot for a short break and, of course, a souvenir photo or two. Afterwards, well hop back on our e-bikes and continue our tour via the Ofenalm and Auernigalm. A particular highlight of our route is the Lago di Pramollo, situated right on the Austrian-Italian border. We cross the border and experience Nassfeld from a completely different perspective. The route then takes us back to the Austrian side and finally to the Hotel Gartnerkofel. The cycle bus takes us comfortably to the border at Thörl Maglern. From here, we set off on this lovely, approximately 65 km-long cycle tour through the Canal Valley. From Tarvisio, much of the route follows the disused Pontebbana railway line through the Italian Canal Valley featuring tunnels, viaducts and bridges offering spectacular views. As the route is mostly slightly downhill, it is suitable for everyone. Discover traces of times long past along the Geotrail on what was once the seabed: that is the promise of the Kronalm walk. Around 300 million years ago, the Nassfeld area lay right on the coast of a sea. Fossil-rich limestone formed in the shallow waters, whilst near the coast, rivers deposited sand and gravel, which solidified over time. Fluctuations in sea level led to an alternating sequence of these rocks around the Auernig. This sequence reaches a thickness of 600800 metres and is known as the Auernig Formation. Its numerous fossilised marine creatures and rock formations can be explored along the Geotrails. Ideally, join us with our hiking guide. The route sets off from the Gartnerkofel mountain station towards the Garnitzenalm and continues up to the Garnitzenberg (1,960 m). After the hike, there is the option to stop for refreshments at the Berghex. Numerous farmers from our region regularly take part in the market. Regional products from family-run farms are offered at the Wulfeniastadt gourmet market. These include Gailtal Valley bacon, sausages, bread, eggs, Gailtal Valley alpine cheese, schnapps, honey, vegetables, Carinthian pasta and fresh beef, pork, game, lamb and fish.

We set off together from the Hotel Gartnerkofel and head out on our e-bikes to explore the impressive mountain scenery around Nassfeld. After just a few kilometres, the tour takes us past beautiful alpine meadows and up to the Watschiger Alm. With every metre we climb, new views open up of the surrounding peaks and the unique landscape of Nassfeld. From the Watschiger Alm, we continue towards the Rossalm. Along varied alpine and forest paths, we enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains, the fresh mountain air and, time and again, fantastic panoramic views. Our next destination is the Tressdorfer Alm, where weve earned a cosy break. Over regional delicacies and a refreshing drink, we can enjoy the view and recharge our batteries. Well-refuelled, we then set off together on the return journey to the Hotel Gartnerkofel.
