The centre of Beverwijk

You can explore the art and culture of Beverwijk on a walk through the town centre. See De Grote Kerk, visit the Kennemer Theatre and Het Muziekfort or spend a few hours in the Kennemer Museum.

If you want to go shopping, the Breestraat is the place for you. And for a break in between, you can grab a drink or a tasty snack in one of the restaurants and cafés.

The Bazaar

Probably the best-known destination in Beverwijk is the Bazaar, one of the largest covered markets in Europe. The Bazaar is open every weekend and attracts around 40,000 visitors every year.

There are more than 300 stalls, 700 shops and around 70 eateries. In 7 large halls you will find the Grand Bazaar, the Oriental Market and the Goudsouk, among others. Each area of the Bazaar has its own atmosphere and you can find everything from clothing and jewellery to furniture and make-up.

In the neighbourhood

From Beverwijk, you can reach the beaches of IJmuiden and Wijk aan Zee in no time at all. The varied dune landscape of the Noordhollands Duinreservaat is also just around the corner.

The nearby hilly landscape of the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park is best explored by bike or on foot and the cities of Alkmaar and Haarlem are not far away either.
